Credits and Courses

In the three-year period you will have to acquire 30 credits in order to access the final exam. To obtain them you will have to attend compulsory and optional courses, stays abroad, workshop and seminars.
The assignment of credits occurs according to the following table:
for 1-day conference 1 CFU
per seminar attended either as student or as teacher 0,50 CFU
for 1 month abroad 1 CFU
for course organized by other PhD courses 1 CFU every 7 hours of lesson

Furthermore, tutoring activities by PhD students will allow the acquisition of 1 CFU per academic year.

For courses organized by this doctorate, the secretariat will always send mails with information.
The secretariat redirects also mails received with information about other courses or meeting, to which you can freely participate.

COMPULSORY (for all tracks), at least 4 CFU per year:
To attend during the three years of the doctorate course.
• 4 CFU (16 h) – Biostatistics with R made simple – prof. Andrea Ferrigno (usually in February-March)
• 3 CFU (12 h) – Clinical bioinformatics – prof. Claudia Casellato / Davide Gentilini (online; https://www.glabstat.com/scienzebiomediche)
• 3 CFU (12 h) – Informatics e programming – prof. Claudia Casellato (6 meetings, 2h/each usually June-July)
• 4 CFU (16 h) – La comunicazione della scienza – prof. Flavio Ceravolo (March – April)
• 1 CFU (4 h) – Metodi e tecnologie in Scienze Biomediche – dott. Barbara Contento / Danila Di Domenico / Stefano Masciocchi (usually May)

for Pharmacology track
• 2 CFU (8 h) – Drug Discovery and Development – prof. Valentina Franco (usually May)
• 2 CFU (8 h) – Gene therapy: from bench to bed-side. Experimental and regulatory aspects – prof. Marco Peviani (usually May)
• 2 CFU (8 h) – Huntington’s Disease e Neurodevelopmental Disorders – prof. Riccardo Brambilla (usually April-May)

for Biochemistry track
3 CFU (12 h) – Learning to teach Biochemistry (usually February-May)
